Each season has something magical to offer, so you can’t really go wrong here.

More About Brač Island Private Day Trip
Depending on your location, this unique guided tour starts in the morning when we pick you up at either your location on Brač, or at the port of your ferry/boat arrival. The exact time can be arranged, unless you are travelling by ferry which has a set schedule.
The drive takes place in a comfortable car or minivan with a driver/guide in English or another language of your choice, always ready to give you lots of interesting information about the country, people, culture, etc.
We will start by going to Vidova gora mountain top, the highest peak of any islands in the Adriatic. Here you can take a walk along the ridge, enjoy spectacular views and take plenty of postcard photos. Next, we will visit the oldest settlement on Brač – the village of Škrip, where you will be special guests at the old Olive Oil mill. If you are a fan of Extra Vergin Olive Oil, this is the place to be! We will show you how to taste olive oil professionally.
After another short drive we will arrive in Pučišća. This harbor town is beautiful and famous for stonemasonry craft. Relative to the time of year and availability, we will visit either the stonemason’s school or one of the artist’s galleries. In either case, you will see something unique to this part of the world and the Adriatic.
With your ferry schedule in mind, we will visit one of the two most beautiful little villages on the island: Selca or Dol. Both are full of fascinating history and interesting sites, and our favorite part is – they are not on any main tourist routes, that way your experience will be even more private and special.
Should you prefer to go for a swim, the last portion of the tour can be replaced with a beach break. You can choose from one of the famous, touristy beaches, or a more secluded one.
At the end of the tour we will return you to your preferred location.
Good To Know
Take your swimwear and towels with you, just in case.
On mild Spring or Autumn days it can get windy and slightly chilly on the top of the mountain, so make sure you have a light jacket with you in the car.
Brač is famous for Extra Virgin Olive Oil of highest quality. If you are interested in taking some with you, let us know and we will recommend the best sources.
Olive picking season is in October and November of each year. You can book your visit around that time and we will organize traditional, hand-picking with a Brač family for you.
Island’s geography and wonderful nature provide for some great hiking and cycling opportunities. Talk to us about organizing a hiking or a cycling day trip or more.
Interested in a gourmet experience of Dalmatia and Brač? Here we can also take you on a tasting tour of the island, offering homemade cheese, excellent local wine and other traditional food.
About Brač Island, Croatia
Famous for its white stone and pebbly beaches, this island is still relatively under the commercial radar, especially outside the Summer season.
Brač is one of the largest islands in the Adriatic and markedly hilly. In fact, it is the tallest among the islands and even has a different micro climate at the top.
It has the advantage of relative closeness to the mainland and is well connected by regular ferry lines and private boats, as well through flights to its international airport.
Brač is not only made of white lime stone, but stone is what everything seems to be made out of. The tradition of stone harvesting is long and complicated – it has been the pride of many generations of this island’s stone masons and artists, but it has also been very hard labor, especially in the past. This beautiful white stone adorns many important and famous buildings in Europe and worldwide, one of the most notable being the Oval Office of the White House in Washington D.C.
Probably the most famous symbol of the island, this pebbly beach shaped into a spike is one of the most popular Summer destinations on the Adriatic.
There are many activities for all ages at the beach. It’s very popular among kite and wind surfers, because of the constant breeze or wind. For those interested in going au naturele, there is a nudist section, secluded from the rest.
The beach is a bit “moody”, on strong jugo wind days it will turn its tip inward and stay that way until the weather changes. It’s quite a sight!
One of the best things about Zlatni Rat is that it photographs very well from the top of the island – Vidova Gora.
Centuries of olive tree cultivation and olive oil production and millions of trees later, Brač has become synonymous with high-quality olive oil on a boutique scale. Hundreds of thousands of trees scattered all over the island are still mostly family owned and grown. In October and November each year you will find everyone in the groves, picking olives by hand and taking them to local mills for cold pressing. Don’t leave the island without getting some Extra Virgin Olive Oil from a family business.
Best of Adriatic Recommends
“Brač, or specifically this one village on the island, is famous for a cake that you won’t find anywhere else in the world – Hrapaćuša. Don’t try to pronounce it, just try it!”
AMANDA
“In Selca you should go on a hunt for all the busts this village has – there are many! Start with that of Leo Tolstoy, the first in the world of the famous Russian author, over 100 years old.”
NATAŠA
“We stayed on the island for 10 days, enjoying the wonderful weather and the beach. Then we wanted to see more. We first attempted to explore it on our own with a rental, which was ok. But it wasn’t until we booked this guided tour that our eyes were opened. There is so much hiding here and Nataša was able to show us so many details. Our two girls loved it!”
FAM. RICHTER, GERMANY
“My husband and I have visited many beautiful Mediterranean countries, but what we found in Croatia, and especially on this visit to the island of Brač is the kind of places that we used to find in the Mediterranean 20 years ago or more. Amanda was great. Her enthusiasm for Brač was contagious. She took us to a village where we saw just one person and a donkey. What a treasure! “
